Welcome to Wise Ink!

So the journey begins! Welcome to our blog. I guess we should start with an introduction. The voices behind Wise Ink are two editors who work with indie authors in their day job (Dara and Amy). Indie publishing is our obsession and after long days in the office pouring over books and mentoring interesting self-publishers, we began brainstorming ways to come interact with even more authors. We’ve learned a lot and we think some of it might actually be useful. And so Wise Ink was born.

Wise Ink was created to help indie authors through the process of writing, publishing, and book marketing. We want to share what we’ve learned because we have to believe that the mistakes we’ve made, witnessed others make, and the curious conundrums of self-publishing have to serve some greater purpose right?

We also believe that indie authors are the future of publishing. No really. We work with fascinating people with incredible stories and we’ve personally witnessed their ability to accomplish great things, change lives, and use their books in ways unimaginable.

Here’s what we hope you take away from Wise Ink:

1. If you have a book dream, there’s a good reason for it. You have nothing to lose in figuring out if writing and then publishing your book is the right move.

2. If you know you want to publish your book on your own, all you need is a plan (and chutzpah).

3. Self-publishing is work, but it’s fun, and there are LOTS of resources out there to help you.

And that’s it. We hope you’ll keep checking us out because we have a lot to say.

  1. I actually like what you have got here, certainly like what you are stating and the way in which you assert it. You make it entertaining. I cant wait to learn much more from you. This is actually a tremendous site.

  2. I have 86 poems, short stories, essays and components of a book length work on the subject of the emergence of a post-modern world, which are presently parked at Writing.com. I am not an enthusiastic participator in its forums anymore because so many of my interlocutors were poorly educated and immature wannabees.

My only foray into being published was around 6 years ago with the Australian Broadcasting Commission through its annual compendium for the science program ‘Ockam’s Razor’. So I am pretty green, even though I have been writing for a long time.

What do I need to do to introduce my work into your website?

    • Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your comment! When you say “introduce” your work into our website, what work are you referring to?
